Before I dazzle you with my new necklaces I need to share this latest obsession of mine: florals and stripes. At first I considered it a No-No combination, but now I am kind of hung up on it and I don’t wait for summer to splash it around. First, here are some tips on how to make this combo work, which I borrowed from http://sophieannaliese.wordpress.com/2011/04/18/sailors-and-flowers
1. Keep the prints in the same color family. Try mixing blue and green stripes with blue/green florals.
2. Don’t mix two large prints. If you’re going to wear big stripes keep the floral pattern small.
3. Keep your accessories minimal and neutral. The focus is in the patterns and adding too many accessories or accessories with too much color can make the ensemble look too busy.
4. Don’t be afraid to mix textures too. Like a thick top mixed with flowy chiffon skirt.
