The Museum of Skopje was sparkling with the runway show by the young designer Igor Markov who opened the shows for 12. Fashion Weekend Skopje.
The audience was eager to see the show that was a tad unfashionably late, but was worth waiting for when we saw the first piece going down the runway. Markov’s Prêt-à-porter féminin de luxe collection for 2016 consists of 23 unique looks for the glamorous, confident woman who is aware of her sex appeal and glows without inhibitions with her attitude. Sparkling mini cocktail dresses and feminine tuxedos with unusual cuts in the back made us sigh, and so did the boldly cut corsets. High slits and deep V-necks were boldly balanced with voluminous tailoring, giving additional extravagance to the pieces. Sensuality is Markov’s trademark in he showed a conceptually well rounded collection as well as perfect craftsmanship.
For my outfit for the evening, I opted for a late 80’s/early 90’s inspired look: vintage high waist pepito pattern pants, Calliope lace turtle neck blouse, vintage tartan cape, black Chelsea boots, vintage camera case worn as a purse, and a beautiful black and gold Fossil wristwatch (available at My:Time). Erina Bogoeva and Gorgi Despodov, two very talented Macedonian photographers, indulged me with photos from the runway and of my outfit. You can see more photos and read my full review on the show at Pixel.mk (Macedonian version only).
