Highlight of the second night on FWSK, and in my opinion one of the strongest collections in this edition, was Irina Tosheva and her SS15 line “Enchalon”. I already expressed my views on the line for Pixel.mk so here I am presenting the entire review translated in English for my foreign readers. Although I could talk about her show for days.
Famous Macedonian designer Irina Tosheva is one of the regulars at FWSK and the audience was more than justified to anxiously await for her new line we were already intrigued about through her sneak peeks regarding the fabrics and the basic inspiration. The new spring-summer line was once again a thematically substantiated fashion story by the designer who through the powerful colour palette of the lake, the vibrant cuts and the silhouette of the eel created designs that deeply carry her creative ethos, elevated to a new, more sophisticated and elegant stage.
Tosheva, who knows exactly how to feel the pulse of the younger fashion audience, with “Enchalon” expanded her clientele domain. Her progressively evoluing expression was presented maturated to the next level, with dominantly feminine silhouettes in natural prints perfectly juxtaposed to sleek sleets and subtle asymmetry. Soft, sensual cotton and glowing toile satin were masterfully translated into elegant high waist pants, sexy dresses, pencil skirts and perfectly tailored jackets for the ladies, as well as two menswear looks, the only pieces for men we saw this season. The collection was aptly accessorized with shoes by “Chantel” as well as jewelry and watches by “My:time”, perfectly rounding up the story inspired by the big blue Ohrid Lake and the enchanting Struga. True to her form of presentation, Tosheva once again collaborated with Macedonian musicians and the catwalk presentation swayed to the beats of the band The John.
“Enchalon” is a mature line that establishes Tosheva, once again, as a designer who does not shy away from experimenting and continues to present designs with masterful craft and top notch fabrics. Applause and standing ovations confirm that without doubt Tosheva will also impress the audience in Ljubljana where later this month she will present the line at Ljubljana Fashion Week as the first Macedonian designer to showcase a line at this prestigious event. Soon Pixel.mk will exclusively present the lookbook for “Enchalon” along with an an interview with Tosheva that I conducted. Teaser: It’s amazing! (Runway photos: Miladin Papovic Photography)
And for my outfit for the evening, inspired by Irina’s blue story I decided to wear these baby blue vintage pants from the 80’s (I’m so happy with how they look on me now, I’ve had them for almost a year and this was only the second time I wore them) paired with a knit H&M crop sweater and my super favorite stilettos. Zoom in on the photos to see the wonderful filigree jewelry by Anechi’s Atelier.
