It’s February and the sun shines not so shy in my beautiful Skopje. Yes, all looks so much better in the sunshine, even this big city that changed so much in the past 10 years since I call it a home. All the new buildings, monuments and development plans that are part of Skopje 2014 Project are stuffing the air and to be completely honest, destroying that Skopje that I fell in love with, that Skopje that I still love. And not to mention how much I regret to see the last surviving monuments of a dandy Skopje dying out as well: the architecture, the culture, the night life, the style. It’s all becoming a huge mash up of styles resulting in kitsch.
But with sun comes hope and in the meanwhile all we have left is put on nice sunglasses to shade us from the reality and at least make us look dandy. Of course I choose the timeless retro cat eye model that will never be out of style for me. Enjoy!
